Two Months

This past Monday Campbell was 2 months old. She weighed 10 pounds and 12 ounces and was 22 5/8 inches in length. This put her in the 50th percentile for both weight and length. My parents were in town after picking them up at the airport from a trip to Las Vegas so while my mom went with my sister around town, my dad came with Campbell and I to the doctor. The nurse thought we were her parents. My dad thinks we confused Dr. Leach as well, but he never asked. She continues to do everything well in the areas of eating, sleeping, and going to the bathroom. She also continues to work on holding her head up and performed well when Dr. Leach put her on her stomach. She got 4 shots and 1 oral vaccine. She of course didn’t like that too much and was a little cranky that afternoon but was back to her normal self the next day.

In the meantime, we’ve had a leak from the air conditioner that soaked the carpet by Campbell’s room. So we called our favorite handyman Sergio and got it fixed. We like Sergio!!! Campbell however has slept that past two nights in her pack-n-play in our bedroom. For some reason, I’ve kind of liked having her close by. Tonight she will probably go back to her room. I’m going to update the pics with some two month shots.

Seven Weeks Old

Campbell is now seven weeks old. We have since made trips to Sealy to see Eric’s dad and his wife as well as our annual trip to Crystal Beach to spend with my parents, grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She continues to sleep and eat well (thanks to the Miracle Blanket and Mylicon drops) and enjoys stretching, smiling, being held, and playing on her play mat. We continue to have little outings here and there and visitors that come by. Eric’s had to travel some and has some upcoming trips planned as well. We’re lucky that Aunt Emmy is moving to Kingwood this week and will be able to spend time with us and help out with Campbell while Daddy is gone. We all think this is great! Bath time is finally getting a little better. She is getting used to being in the water and likes the water being poured on her body. She begins to cry when the soap has to begin and the water touches her head. Once she’s out and dry, she is one happy and calm baby!

5:00 am

This is the time that Campbell has let us sleep till for three nights this past week!  Although we’ve gotten our hopes up that this is her new pattern, it has not been consistent.  It’s kind of a little surprise each night to see what she will do.  This past week we went back to the doctor and she has grown past her birth weight now to 8 pounds and 12 ounces.  She also had her one month birthday on Friday…I’ve already gotten a little sad that she is getting bigger and older.

The weekend of the Fourth we took our first overnight trip to Poppa and Mia’s house in Nederland.  My mom (Mia) bribed us with fried shrimp and some sleep so off we went.  It was nice to visit and have multiple people take care of Campbell.  Eric and I were able to go out to eat and to the movies one night as well.  Campbell slept well in the different location and was her usual sweet self.

We also have made the progression to her big bathtub since her cord has finally fallen out.  She did NOT like this at all the first time and neither did her mommy.  Eric said we didn’t need two babies in the house :)  The second night was a little better for both of us.  We’re hoping she will come to like this over time.

We also continue to have visitors come over which make the day a little brighter.  We’ve also gotten out for a few car and stroller rides as well.  We have a few outings set up for this week too.  Overall the first month has been pretty good.  She truly is a joy!

Campbell’s Photo Shoot

Eric has taken the past week off to spend time with Campbell.  We’ve had a good week.  We’ve had wonderful meals from our church family and friends that have made the past two weeks special as well.  We are very thankful and appreciative more than you know.  Monday was kind of a plain day of staying home and getting acclamated to Campbell’s habits and routines.  Tuesday, we had a visit from Eric’s dad and godparents.  Thursday was a big day with Campbell’s first photo shoot.  We chose Chubby Foot Photography and was very pleased with our results.  You can check out a preview at  http://www.chubbyfoot.com/Recent/2008/062008/062008CampbellWEB2/index.htm We also had a doctor’s appointment that afternoon.  It had rained pretty hard prior to the appointment and the lights were out at the doctor’s office.  We had the beginning of her appointment by the little bit of light from a window and a lantern, but then the lights came back on to finish up with a heel prick and lots of crying.  She hadn’t gained any weight which was a little alarming so we go back for a weight check in a week.  Friday, we tried the grocery store for the first time.  I figured we needed to test it out with two people present before I tried it solo.  Don’t know if I’ll be attempting that again.  I can’t really find a good option for putting her carrier in the cart and feeling comfortable with her safety.  We might just have to wait till she can sit up in the front and go to the store at night or on weekends for now!  We’ve also tried new things such as stroller rides around the block and putting her in the swing.  Both of these she is quite fond of!  Her belly button cord finally fell off Saturday.  We’ll have to advance to baths in the little tub now.  Nights haven’t been too bad…we’ll see how Eric does or if we’ll have to readjust our current shifts with him going back to work.  Eric’s been a wonderful father and help to me this week…we’ll see how I do by myself :0

Meet Campbell

Hi.  My name is Campbell.  I enjoy warm bottles, long naps, and clean diapers.  That’s all I know at the moment.  This is my picture below.  I have very little hair and blue eyes.  I am working on the hair thing these days.  Keep checking back to see how I am doing.

Baby Campbell is Born!

Campbell Addison Tipp was born on June 11, 2008 at 7:50 pm.  She was 8 pounds 11 ounces and measured 20.5 inches long.  She came with the wonderful help of nurses Megan and Alice and Dr. Shelly Leeds-Richter. We arrived home on Friday, June 13 at about 12:30 pm.

This is our first post to our new blog.  We have created this with the help of Uncle Bretty in an effort to keep everyone up to date on Baby Campbell as well as other developing Tipp news.  I hope you all enjoy it.

Feel free to get in touch with us, as we would love to hear from you.  Keep checking back for new new posts and fun info about our new addition, Campbell!
